The Research Center for Comparative and International Studies, or NECI, is an attempt to bring together a group of top-notch scholars with shared research interests, in a single institutional center in the University of São Paulo. The goal is to bring together researches whose main objective is to create an environment in which scientific dialogue may prosper.
NECI’s researches can be categorized into four subfields:

  • Legislative Studies – legislative behavior, party migration, coalitions, budget process, and coalitional presidentialism;
  • Electoral Studies – electoral behavior, political parties, electoral geography, and elections;
  • State and Government Studies – analysis of decision making, institutional analysis, public budgets and humanities;
  • Foreign Politics – international organizations and political institutions.
